We all like to think we’re data-driven.


You look at the spreadsheets. You check the throughput numbers. You calculate the ROI. Then you start building the case for automation.

Other times it filters for no.


You see a solution that could solve most of the problem, but one exception takes over the conversation.


  • You fixate on the rare case: "What about the one pallet size we only handle twice a month?"

  • You let variation block progress: "If it can't handle every workflow, we shouldn't do it."

  • You confuse perfect with practical: "Let's wait until we find a system that covers 100%."


Both reactions are understandable. Both are also dangerous.
